duat egyptian door to the afterlife

The Duat

The Duat is an ancient Egyptian symbol or hieroglyph of a five pointed star surrounded by a circle. Written about in all the major funerary texts of the ancients, the Duat described the journey undertaken by the soul after death. Often times the Duat was described as a realm or an object the soul had to pass through to reach their final destination, the Lands of the Gods.  Many Egyptologists see the Duat as a symbolic reference for what happens when the pharaoh dies. Ancient alien theorist Zachariah Sitchin has this to say, “ Treating the Journey’s details in those texts as factual geographic and topographic indicators, I have concluded that the Duat was located in the central plain of the Sinai peninsula – the site of the Anunnaki’s post Diluvial spaceport.”

The ancient alien theory also believes there was a landing strip for aircraft built into the Cedar Mountains of Lebanon. Indeed there is an enormous man made, long and narrow, level place high in the mountains created out of perfectly shaped limestone blocks. The theory is that these sky gods of the ancient Egyptians used various markers both in the sky and on Earth to be able to land their craft on this “Landing Place”. What would the markers have been? Archeologists have long wondered at the purpose of the Pyramids at Giza, believing them to be tombs, yet there has been no evidence of such. These pyramids were the first to be fully covered with smooth, highly reflective limestone, making them clearly visible from space. The four shafts in the Great Pyramid in ancient times clearly showed, 4 constellations or stars back at the time of it’s building. These were: Sirius; Zeta Orionis, the brightest star of the Orion Belt; Alpha Draconis, and Beta Ursa minor. At the time these four stars were also the two equinoctial and the two-solstitial stars, aligning themselves at various times of the year with the Earth’s horizon. The three pyramids themselves were aligned perfectly with one of the easiest to find constellations in the night sky, the three stars of Orion’s Belt. Using the stars as markers aligned with the Earth one could easily find the pyramids. Once found and using two peaks in the Ararat Mountains that mimic perfectly the size and shape of the two bigger pyramids, an aircraft could triangulate position and fly straight up the center line of the perceived triangle to land safely on the long, flat, perfectly crafted landing strip in the mountains of Lebanon. Using a shortened triangulated formula, one also could find the post Diluvial spaceport, which lies directly on the same triangular median.

The bottom symbols of the design show the etymology of the word “god(s)” in ancient hieroglyphs. The very earliest symbol (to the left) resembles quite closely the symbol for star or planet, as it proceeds in age it comes much closer to the Christian symbol for God, the cross.

Harbingers of Peace

The galactic sky hole is also known as the galactic center. This is the spot that the Milky Way galaxy rotates around. It is believed by scientists that there is a supermassive black hole located there. Visually it is near the brightest area of the Milky Way when viewed in the night sky. Along this bright trail of stars a dark rift may also be seen with the naked eye. Many meso-American cultures saw the “dark rift” as the birth place of the universe. Myth told of deities riding serpent ropes out of the sky center into this plane of existence.

It is predicted by the ancient Mayans, Tolmecs and Aztecs that their lord of peace, Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent, would return through the galactic sky hole ushering in a new reign of peace at the end of the present age.

The present Mayan calendar ends in the Gregorian year 2012..

This does not mean the world is going to end, just as it doesn’t end on December 31 each year.

Calendars’ end.

However, the prediction of a coming age of consciousness and peace has been predicted again and again all over the world. This design shows the Milky Way forming a human heart. From the spiraling center descend celestial messengers of peace. Each rides their own deity rope based on the predictions inherent in their individual stories of peace. First is Aquarius, the water bearer, symbol of human advancement andconsciousness since time immemorial spilling behind her healing waters. Next is the Buddha, the enlightened one. There are many incarnations of Buddha who teaches the release of suffering and attainment of enlightenment, pure love. He is riding a flame in reference to the first Buddha’s Fire Sermon. Saquasohuh (Blue Star) Kachina predicted by the Hopis to signal the emergence into the Fifth World. This world will unfortunately start with WWIII but for those that survive, we will become as one race, speaking one tongue, living in peace. He rides a rope of maize considered to be a sustaining life gift from the Great Spirit. Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent,  in his mouth is the face of Pakal thought to be the last human embodiment of the peaceful deity. Jesus is the Christian god sent to earth to teach humanity about understanding, love and kindness. He is predicted to return from the sky on a trail of clouds. The supreme Hindu god, Krisna, as Balaji, the newborn cosmic child, returns in the universal deluge ending the present Kali Yuga.

Get on Your Bikes and Ride!

Dr. Hofmann is a Swiss scientist who in the 1940′s synthesized the compound lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD). After a strange reaction to some of this compound getting on his skin, Dr. Hofmann decided to self experiment with what would be the recommended dosage for reaction to a typical compound (though as it turned out quite a large amount for LSD).

In his own words :

Exercising extreme caution, I began the planned series of experiments with the smallest quantity that could be expected to produce some effect, considering the activity of the ergot alkaloids known at the time: namely, 0.25 mg (mg = milligram = one thousandth of a gram) of lysergic acid diethylamide tartrate.

Quoted below is the entry for this experiment in my laboratory journal of April 19, 1943. The first section contains notes on the production of the tartrate (tartaric acid salt) of LSD.

4/19/43 16:20: 0.5 cc of Vi promil aqueous solution of diethylamide tartrate orally = 0.25 mg tartrate.

Taken diluted with about 10 cc water. Tasteless.

17:00: Beginning dizziness, feeling of anxiety, visual distortions, symptoms of paralysis, desire to laugh.

Supplement of 4/21: Home by bicycle. From 18:00-ca. 20:00 most severe crisis. (See special report.)

“Home by bicycle”.

And then what followed was undoubtedly an extraordinary experience, one that would have terrified most, but Dr. Hofmann saw the intrinsic value in LSD-25.

This shirt, a 1943 Roadster kicking out a swirling fractal of LSD molecules, pays homage to the spirit of Dr. Hofmann. A man who had an idea about something, a hunch and instead of letting it go, moved forward with it, and in doing so brought the ancient tribal concept of the substance assisted spiritual and psychological “trip” into the modern age and made this experience accessible to all.

When the Mask Comes Off

Psychedelics have been used by societies both ancient and modern. Their use as a tool for tapping into the cosmic consciousness is a global phenomenon. Today their usefulness in the fields of psychological studies are being researched at major institutions including John Hopkins Medical Center and Columbia University. Recorded histories show the use of different mind altering substances in the religious and cultural ceremonies of such influential societies as Hellenistic Greece and Aryan India. Today psychotropic plants still play a part in traditional societies; ayawaska in indigenous South American shamanic rituals and ibogaine in the African spiritual traditions of the Bwiti. In the last century the newly discovered chemical compound lysergic acid diethylamide, otherwise known as LSD,  brought the use of psychedelics into the mainstream and was tied closely to the modern American movement that promoted peace and fought for and won the true freedom of women and African Americans in this country. In the present day people from all races and walks of life are awaking to the possible benefits responsible ingestion of these powerful medicines can bring.

The woman self lactates the mother earth’s milk of psychedelics to the world. When taking psychedelics it rips your consciousness to it’s true core. You are no longer able to keep in place the mask you hold up to the world and you come face to face with your true nature possibly for the first time. For some people who are able to be self aware this has the effect of a conscious awakening, it is a pleasant and enlightening experience. On the left you see the mask come off in this direction, the woman’s third eye is awakening. The Tibetan lotus grows out of the infant skull and the bee, a symbol of Christ consciousness hovers near by.

On the right the tearing of the mask is a painful experience, the woman does not want to face herself and this, I believe, is partly what causes a “bad trip”. The experience, seemingly negative, is not. Out of the infant skull to her right come earth worms which help regenerate our physical bodies into useful matter. A red rose, symbol of true love, grows on a stem of DNA as does the lotus. A spider is a symbol of good luck. Together bees and spiders are immensely important in the functioning of this planet.

DESIGN MEANING: Life Death Mandala

Spiral of Life and Death

Our beginning and our end operate with in the structure of strict universal laws. There is no common occurrence between the two that can be said, as much, to prove us all one people.

In the middle of the mandala is  an abridged version of of the stages of human development. The design works outward in a spiral, starting with the one cell zygote through to the fetus at 23 weeks. Continuing to spiral to the outer ring is the first stage of physical death as the soul leaves the body. Working from an ancient Japanese art form, kusozu, a graphic depiction of the nine stages of death and decay and information from videos about the Body Farm, a government compound where they study the decomposition of bodies left out on the grounds, I came up with five stages of physical death: soul departure, bloating, wasting, consumption by saprotrophs and finally bones.

After physical death comes the journey of the soul. Studying the the belief systems of world wide religions and cultures as well as recorded accounts of near death experiences I tried to the common themes into five stages.

In the first the soul is greeted with feelings of overwhelming peace and love. Symbolically there is often a tunnel or cave as well as a bright light. Next comes the experience of human emotion often categorized as “seeing your life flash before your eyes”. This stage can also involve outside entities that exert these feelings including family members, friends, angels or “guides”. The third stage is the concept of redemption or punishment also known as heaven and hell. For this I used loosely the imagery of Tibetan Buddhist THIRD bardo as it tied into many other belief systems. The spiritual vortexes are hell (fire and ice), the hungry ghost (need and desire), asura ( a place where those needing to exert power over others in life go to learn), animal world (for those souls who have through gluttony have devolved into an unreflective state of animal existence), and heaven (symbolized by a city of light and knowledge). The fourth stage moves us beyond human experience into a place of pure knowledge. This is symbolized by the ancient universal symbol of spiritual intelligence, the serpent. Lastly is the Cosmic, absorption into the presence of God or divine enlightenment, symbolized by the 1000 petal lotus, the all seeing eye of god and the celestial flame.

DESIGN MEANING: Unity

ONE GOD, MANY PATHS

UNITY

Know that there is only one God, one consciousness though spoken in different words,

and wisdom given by different people in many different ways.

                                                    –Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

This mandala is symbolic of the idea, One God, Many Paths.

There is so much hatred in the world today because of religious dogma and yet love is at

the root of all religions.

In the center of the mandala is the vesica piscis, a geometric shape created by the circumference

of two same size circles laying on the center point of the other. The mathematical ratio

of the width of the vesica piscis to its height is the square root of 3. The shape has played a part

in many forms of mysticism through out history. Inside of it is the all seeing eye of God.

Surrounding and protecting it is a dodecahedron, one of the platonic solids and

as remarked by Plato in Timaeus 55 …”the god used for arranging the constellations

on the whole heaven”.

The top hand is Buddha’s in it he holds a lotus bud. The hand is held in the position of

the Vitarka Mudra, symbolizing Intellectual argument, discussion.

To the right is the Hand of Fatima. Fatima was the prophet Mohammed’s daughter.

In the center of the eight petal holy flower of Islam is Allah’s name.

The bottom hand is the hand of Jesus Christ. On the wrist is the Rosicrucian rose.

The center of the rose bleeds the stigmata.

To the left is the Jewish Hand of Hamsa or Hand of Miriam. Like the hand of Fatima it is seen

as the hand of God and a protective amulet. In the palm is the Star of David and the implied

center of the Flower of Life.

The web symbolizes that we are all caught in this Earthly plane together.

Blue is considered a spiritual color in religions world wide.

DESIGN MEANING: Metatrons

Enoch metatron's cube erin cadigan

Enoch turns into Metatron

The sacred geometry symbol in this design is Metatron’s cube. Inherent in the cube are the five platonic solids. Platonic solids are congurent regular polygons. A regular polygon is a three dimmensional shape whose angles are all the same and whose sides are all equal. What makes them congruent is that their faces are all the same size and shape as well. The five Platonic Solids implied by the two dimensional Metatron’s cube are: Star Tetrahedron, Hexadron (cube), Octahedron, Dodecahedron, and Icosahedron.

The prophet Enoch is seen driving a fiery chariot into the the symbol. Enoch was the great-grandfather of Noah and the seventh generational decendent of Adam and Eve. He is written about in the Biblical book of Genesis and The New Testament as well as in the Book of Enoch, Enoch2 (Slavonic), and in one of the Dead Sea Scrolls known as Enoch 3. It is said in these historic accounts that Enoch never died. According to the records Enoch lived on Earth 365 years and was accended to Heaven with out ever dying. The records state that Enoch accended into Heaven and was returned bodily to Earth on several occassions before the final time he was taken up. The horses and fiery chariot is a reference to the specifics of the prophet Elijah’s ascension as the method of Enochs ascension is never described. The chariot itself is a reference to the “Winged Disk” motif found through out the ancient Middle East.

In Enoch 1 and Enoch 2 it is stated that Enoch was transformed into the angel Metatron before the face of God.  This creates for the Earthly Enoch a heavenly counter-part or twin, making him to be both Enoch and Metatron at once. In both Enoch 2 and Enoch 3 the “face of God” is described as a face of fire, “a glorious brilliance”.  Later Merkabah accounts catagorize Metatron as the Face of God. Medieval Jewish mystical texts refer to Metatron as the scribe of God, an angel of the highest power, who is the only angel allowed to sit in the presence of the Lord. He is seated to the right, behind the throne of God.

“This Enoch whose flesh was turned to flame, his veins to fire, his eyelashes to flashes of lightening, his eye balls to flaming torches and who God placed on a throne next to the throne of glory, recieved after this heavenly transformation the name of Metatron.

–Enoch 3
